Breakfast pizza at Mother Clucker’s

Breakfast pizza is how the two addresses keep talking to each other after the diner moved.

Scratch crust. The Nicollet Diner's country gravy instead of red sauce. Mozzarella, cheddar, scrambled eggs, green onion. Bacon or sausage or ham. It is on the menu as a slice and as a pie because some mornings are a slice and some mornings are a situation.

People get precious about what belongs on pizza. Those people can have a nice pepperoni and a nice day. Gravy and egg on dough is not a stunt we invented for the internet. It is breakfast that does not require a fork unless you want one. It is also the item you order at 10 a.m. in the cafe when you meant to get a muffin and then you smelled the oven.

I like it because it is honest about who we are. We did not wipe the diner out of this building. We changed the headline. The gravy still knows the way.

If you want eggs on a plate with hash browns, that plate lives at 1333 now. If you want eggs on a pizza in Loring Park, you are in the right room. Both kitchens will still be going when you finish. That is the family business in one sentence.
